Last December, after suffering a lot of injuries, FC Barcelona decided to go to the market and sign Dante Exum. With a temporary contract, the former NBA player arrived with the mission of contributing in defense. At times, it seemed that adapting to European basketball would be too complicated for the Australian guard, who had until the end of February to convince the club and the coach that he deserved a spot in the team.
Well, now Exum is a very important player for Sarunas Jasikevicius, and just a week after extending his contract he became the MVP of the round in EuroLeague. If last week we already considered signing him in Biwenger (in exchange for 20 million), this time we take the step and, at least we include him on our bench.
His progression has been incredible and during Barcelona’s last three games, he has averaged 24.7 points. Also, last week he had his best performance of the season, reaching 30 points against AS Monaco.
WE CONTINUE SEEKING BALANCE
This round we won’t count on the players from the Russian teams, but also we will not use the members of Panathinaikos, Bayern Munich, and Fenerbahce, of course. The options are reduced, especially in the starting five due to the budget limit.
Among the best economic options, we find Matt Costello (29 million and 27 average points in the last four games) and Alpha Diallo (nine consecutive games reaching at least 12 points), who will be included in our team this week.
