The decision of Zeljko Obradovic was a surprise for many. Last summer he returned to Belgrade for Partizan and almost a year later, he is more than happy with his decision.
Being back in his country and city is invigorating, as he said to Eurohoops in Hala Pioneer after Game 3 of the Adriatic League semifinals.
Obradovic talked about the Final Four, which according to him may go next to Istanbul and then maybe to Madrid in the new Bernabeu stadium, about Partizan joining the EuroLeague, and about the problems of European basketball.
How can they be solved? “We don’t have to watch only for our own personal interests”, was his answer and nobody can disagree.
And the veteran coach talked also about a personal milestone. Obradovic’s son, Djordje, who is the godchild of Duda Ivkobic, became godfather himself during the Final Four…
