Paired with fellow Lithuanian Arturas Gudaitis, Marius Grigonis makes out half of the latest players of his country landing at Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos.

“I still hear about Maciulis, everybody loved him here. At least, I want to reach their level and not be the worst Lithuanian in Panathinaikos. I want to prove I belong in that strong group,” he said in his exclusive interview with Eurohoops.

Besides the aforementioned Jonas Maciulis, fellow greats out of the Baltic country, Ramunas Siskauskas, Robertas Javtokas, Sarunas Jasikevicius, and Lukas Lekavicius, are all former players of the Greens.

In addition, he shared his first basketball memories growing up, his view on the Lithuanian league, and what he takes from every coach he worked with, before diving into Panathinaikos and the 2022-23 season.

Don’t miss the run-and-gun question-and-answer installment at the conclusion of the interview.

Grigonis, 28, joined the Greens on a two-year contract last July.
