The second consecutive campaign of Marius Grigonis at Panathinaikos Aktor received a highlight in Round 15 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season. A buzzer-beater contributed to an active six-game winning streak, including four in continental competition.

Grigonis, 29, talked to Eurohoops after tallying nine points and five rebounds in the home win versus Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet on Thursday.

“I received messages across social media. At 18 or 20, this would affect me,” he recalled the reaction of fans following the game-winning shot against AS Monaco on December 20, “It is crazy how one single shot can sometimes change the mood of the fans and the situation in the team. It seems funny because if you miss the shot, everything collapses.”

“It was one shot. I am happy I made it. But at the end of the day, it was simply one game in the Regular Season,” the Lithuanian sharpshooter explained to Eurohoops.

Building on the winning streak, the Greens jumped to 10-7 at the midway point of the Regular Season.

“When you lose one game, you must win the next two. I do not know our limits. The second half of the Regular Season will be tougher because every team has made adjustments, and understands gameplans and opponents better,” commented Grigonis, “We will see what will happen and what we can do.”

Navigating his sixth straight year in Europe’s premier club continental competition, he averaged 9.9 points per contest over the first half of the double-legged round-robin schedule.
