After helping Panathinaikos Aktor move up to second place in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings, Mathias Lessort visited the Eurohoops LIVE show on Friday.
Besides reacting to a win against FC Barcelona in OAKA Altion in Round 31 of the Regular Season, the French center also gave an explanation for his infamous quote following the away game versus Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet on Wednesday in Round 30.
“It was an inside joke we had between players. I was calling my teammates different animals. I think the zebra was Kendrick [Nunn], [Kostas] Sloukas was the dolphin, I was the monkey, and the pony was Jerian [Grant],” he said, “That was an inside joke between the players. Some people say it was about different stuff but I don’t speak Serbian so well to know the words of all these songs of fans of Partizan. I know some of them, the easy ones, but this one is a little bit complicated. So, I don’t know exactly the words.”
“It was a jungle because it was very awesome. As an animal from the jungle, he was comfortable,” added the former star of Partizan Mozzart Bet between 2021 and 2023, “That was the joke.”

The controversy centered on the initials of the animals, ZDMP, matching an insulting chant of Partizan ultras.
