After the departure of Sito Alonso for Laboral Kutxa, Bilbao has found its new coach. The Basque club officially announced that it has reached a two-year agreement with Carles Duran.

After the departure of Sito Alonso for Laboral Kutxa, Bilbao has found its new coach. The Basque club officially announced that it has reached a two-year agreement with Carles Duran.

Duran spent the last two seasons of his career in Valencia. While initially he joined the “Bats” in 2014 as an assistant to Velimir Perasovic, he assumed head coaching duties the latter parted ways with the team on January 2015. He then led Valencia to the Liga Endesa semifinals.

In 2015/2016 he remained in Valencia, as assistant coach to Pedro Martinez. Duran’s official presentation by Bilbao will take place on Wednesday.
