Bilbao officially announced the signing of an old and highly esteemed friend, Spanish veteran point guard Javi Salgado to a one-year deal. A native of the city of Bilbao, Salgado had previously spent nine years of his professional career with the club.
The 37-year-old player arrives from Estudiantes with which he averaged 6 points and 4 assists in last season’s Liga Endesa.
Salgado was a major character in Bilbao’s ascension from LEB 2 (Spain’s third division) to LEB (second division) and then to Liga Endesa during the previous decade.
