Fenerbahce/ Ulker is searching for a long time the right back court addition. As we recently reported and coach Obradovic confirmed in his Fenerbahce TV interview, no move will be made, unless the right player can be found, in order to complete the roster without creating any balance or chemistry issues.
According to Eurohoops sources, this player is finally found and his name is Nikos Zisis. The Greek veteran has every quality needed by the Turkish club. He is more than experienced in Euroleague level, he is a great creator, a team player who can make his teammates better and a very dependable decision maker on the floor.
Zisis’ style of play is a fit to what Fenerbahce needs, he can bring more quality and balance in the back court and he is not a player who will take shots and room from Ricky Hickman or lethal scorer Andrew Goudelock, who was his teammate last season in Unics Kazan and has proven chemistry with him.
It’s a smart last minute idea by Fenerbahce, but everything depends on Unics Kazan in order to become a reality. Zisis has a contract with the Russian club which expires at the end of the season, however for sure he wants to play in Euroleague. Signing with Fenerbahce is a great choice for his ambitions and if Unics decides to accommodate him, then the captain of the Greek national team in the last FIBA World Cup will continue his season in Istanbul. However the final decision depends on Unics’ president and on Monday the deadline for transfers before Euroleague’s Top16 expires.
