Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar put on a strong third quarter which propelled them to an 87-83 home win over Nizhny Novgorod in VTB League. Lokomotiv improved to 9-4 compared to Nizhny’s 5-7 record.
Will Cummings and Johnny O’Bryant led the way with 20 points each while Alan Williams notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.
For Nizhny, Brandon Brown scored 19 followed by Michael Jenkins’s 15 and Darral Willis’ 14 points.
The first ten minutes were balanced with the hosts having a minimal 21-20 lead and it stayed balanced by the halftime with teams being tied at 41. However, Lokomotiv took over after the break reaching a ten-point margin (68-58) by the end of the third quarter, and it ended up being enough for them to secure the win in the fourth quarter.
