Donaldas Kairys signed a contract with Avtodor Saratov to assume head coaching responsibilities, the Russian club announced on Tuesday. His staff will include Georgios Dedas. Kairys and Dedas were recently together at Olympiacos as assistants with the Lithuanian moving to Greece as part of Kestutis Kemzura’s staff and his Greek colleague already there from 2018.

Predrag Krunic’s contract was previously terminated, the Russian team informed via separate press release. The 52-year-old took over the helm in late November, but departs with Avtodor on a losing streak in VTB United League and 12th overall with a poor 4-11 W-L tally.

Kairys’ previous head coaching gigs feature ASK Riga, Dnipro-Azot, Tsmoki-Minsk, Czarni Slupsk and Kalev/Cramo. Has been an assistant at Khimki, Lietuvos Rytas, Lokomotiv Kuban and CSKA, at the Lithuanian national team as well.
