Will Clyburn scored 24 points in 26 minutes as CSKA Moscow beat Unics Kazan 102 – 86 in the Game of the Week of VTB League.
Clyburn dropped 20 of his points in the first half to help CSKA recover from an early 10 – 19 deficit and close the second period up 54 – 48. The “Army Men” proceeded to establish a double-digit advantage and keep it for the remainder of the match despite losing Mike James to stomach problems and fever (per the club).
Isaiah Canaan (18 points) stood out from Unics that always trailed after the mid of the second quarter. The guests saw coach Dimitris Priftis getting ejected in the fourth period.
Daniel Hackett and Ivan Ukhov contributed 16 points apiece, Tornike Shengelia scored 15 while Johannes Voigtmann posted 11 points and 11 rebounds for CSKA.
Jordan Morgan (13 points) and John Brown (12 points) five rebounds also scored in double figures for Unics.
