UNICS Kazan managed to bounce back from an early deficit and hold off Lokomotiv Kuban for a third straight win (74-70) with which they completed the series and advanced to the Finals where they will clash against CSKA Moscow or Zenit Saint Petersburg (2-1).

John Brown logged 14 points and nine rebounds for the victors followed by Isaiah Cannan with 12, as well as Okaro White and Jordan Theodore with 11 points each. White grabbed ten boards too.

Although Lokomotiv had a 15-4 early lead as well as 44-31 at halftime, UNICS didn’t let go and nullified the deficit throughout the third quarter, even taking over the momentum.

It was practically a one-possession game throughout the whole last period but Lokomotiv just couldn’t get over the hump as UNICS didn’t allow them to take back the lead at any single point.

John Holand’s two-pointer at slightly over a minute left was the last in the line of key baskets (73-70) that the hosts made to pull off another win and defense on both sides took care of the rest.

Holland finished with a total of six points but managed to make the most important ones down the stretch. On the opposing side, Nigel Williams-Goos scored 17 in addition to Grigory Motovilov’s 14 and Mindaugas Kuzminskas’s 13 points.
