Will Clyburn and CSKA Moscow got the job done against Zenit to prevail with an 81-73 win in the final of the inaugural VTB League SuperCup.
Clyburn had 18 points for the Army Team, which grabbed a double-digit lead in the first quarter (21-10) and never looked back since. Adding up to the list of scorers, Iffe Lundberg stepped up with 14 points and six rebounds for CSKA, Marius Grigonis posted 11 and Nikola Milutinov had 10 points.
Billy Baron finished the game with 17 points, 4 assists for Zenit, Jordan Loyd and Jordan Mickey followed with 15 and 12 points respectively and Alex Poythress signed off with 10 points and 9 rebounds.
Mario Hezonja took off with 27 points and six steals to lead UNICS Kazan to an 84-70 victory over Lokomotiv Kuban at the third-place game earlier on Sunday.
Marco Spissu added up to Hezonja’s efforts with 12 points and Tonye Jekiri had 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists for Velimir Perasovic‘s squad.
On the other end of the court, Errick McCollum paced Loko with 19 points, 9 assists, while Stanton Kidd added 14 points.
