Casper Ware and Nikola Milutinov had everything under control as they led CSKA to a convincing win over Zenit in Game 1 of the VTB League Finals

Casper Ware led the way for CSKA Moscow in Game 1 of the VTB League Finals as the hosts logged an 83-59 win over Zenit Saint Petersburg.

Ware banked in 25 points on 3-3 shooting from deep. Nikola Milutinov also had a great game with 18 points, ten rebounds, and six assists. The Serbian big shot 3-4 from the floor and 12-13 from the free-throw line.

Alexey Shved added 11 and Jonas Jerebko ten points. For Zenit, Jordan Loyd scored 13 and Dmitry Kulagin ten points.

CSKA was dominant from the tip-off and they didn’t allow Zenit to take over the lead at any point thought the game. They were up 20-6 near the end of the first quarter and 46-30 at halftime.

Zenit showed some comeback effort after the break but with CSKA keeping control, their resistance weakened in the fourth quarter and the hosts closed the deal.

The Finals are played in a best-of-seven format and CSKA will have another chance in front of their own fans before the series moves to Zenit’s home court.
