Zenit St. Petersburg routed CSKA Moscow 82 – 63 at home in Game 6 of the VTB League Finals and forced a decisive Game 7. The “winner takes all” match will be hosted by CSKA Sunday (5/6).
Jordan Mickey led all scorers with 17 points while grabbing six rebounds. Billy Baron (11 points) and Tyson Carter (10 points) also scored in double figures for Zenit that trailed 16 – 23 early in the second period before turning everything upside down to dominate the rest of the game.
Zenit took a 39 – 33 lead at halftime and established a steady double-digit lead after the break thanks to some strong defense. After being down 68 – 51, CSKA made it 71 – 61 with three minutes to play but the hosts answered with a 6-0 run to stay safe and sound.
Nikola Milutinov (14 points, eight rebounds) and Alexey Shved (14 points, six rebounds) stood out from CSKA. Semen Antonov added 10 points.
