Nymburk was proven to be a tough nut to break for CSKA Moscow

Despite the fact that this was a game between the teams which finished first and eighth in the VTB League regular season standings, it certainly didn’t look like that on court. CSKA Moscow beat Nymburk 95 – 87 and made the 1-0 in the league’s playoffs, albeit not before struggling a bit first.

And that is because everytime that the Russian team tried to build a strong lead, Nymburk always managed to come back, showing that they didn’t traveled to Moscow just to become a plaything in the hands of their, generally, powerful opponents.

But in the end, CSKA‘s superiority prevailed. With the score 79 – 78 and and almost five minutes to go, coach Itoudis’ players began an 11-0 run, making it 90 – 78, three minutes before the final buzzer. The Czechs could not make another valiant comeback and the hosts won the match.

Nando De Colo finished the game with 20 points and 8 assists for CSKA Moscow, while the 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists of Howard Sant-Roos made him the best player of Nymburk.
