Markovic led Zenit to the big road win over Lokomotiv Kuban

Serbian point guard Stefan Markovic was the hero of the day for Zenit St. Petersburg after a great game in Krasnodar which was decided on details.

With 18 seconds on the clock, Markovic made the score 83-80 from the free throws line and that was enough for the final win of Zenit. In the time remaining Matt Janning missed the shot that could have send the game to overtime, Kevin Jones took the offensive rebounds, but Markovic blocked him and the game was over.

In total the Serb had 17 points and 7 assists, while his teammate Sergey Karasev was the top scorer of the game with 23 points. Greek big man Ian Vougioukas was the top scorer of Lokomotiv with 16 points and 6 rebounds, Janning added 14 points and Mardy Collins made an amazing half court buzzer beater. They were not enough.

After this result Zenit has a 18-3 record and remains on the hunt of CSKA Moscow (18-2) which will face Khimki (16-3) on Monday. Lokomotiv remains fourth with a 14-5 record, over Unics Kazan (12-8).
