Zenit’s winning duo and Lokomotiv’s narrow win over VEF were the highlights of Thursday action in VTB League.

Four days after staying scoreless against Nizhny Novgorod, Sergey Karasev combined 66 points with Kyle Kuric to lead Zenit past Enisey 104-84 on the road. Karasev had 32 points, while Kuric added 34 and the duo held off Enisey’s resistance.

Zenit improves to 15-6 in the standings and remains in the 4th spot for the moment. Enisey falls to 5-16, two games out of 8th place with only three games left in the current season.

Lokomotiv Kuban beat VEF on the road on Thursday evening with 71-69. The winners survived a wild VEF comeback, hanging on for a 71-69 win to stay in control of the third place in the standings.

Joe Ragland led the team with 18 points, while Jonas Maciulis added 13 more for the Krasnodar side.

Loko improves to a 15-6 record, while the Latvian team drops to 7-15, tied with Astana in the 10th position.
