Jordan Mickey put on a double-double performance leading Khimki Moscow Region to an easy 75-51 home win against VEF Riga in VTB United League.
Mickey scored 13 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for a total value of 29. Alexey Shved helped with 16 points although he couldn’t find his usual rhythm from the three-point line (1/7) and Anthony Gill added 12 points.
Andrjs Grazulis was the only double-digit scorer for the guests with 11 points and he also added six rebounds.
It was a fairly balanced first quarter (17-15) but Khimki soon after went ahead and led by a 13-point margin at halftime (40-27). They kept breaking the opponents’ resistance after the break improving the lead to as much as 30 points (68-38) and leaving no doubt about the winner.
Yesterday (11/11), Nando De Colo led CSKA’s offensive clinic to a win against Lokomotiv Kuban.
Khimki and CSKA stay the only undefeated teams in VTB with 7-0 record while Unics is behind them with 5-1. At the bottom are Tsmoki (1-5) and VEF (1-6).
