The VTB League Young Player of the Year is selected among players age 22 and younger (born in 1997 or later) and Avtodor guard Nikita Mikhailovsky has been chosen for the 2018-19 campaign.

The 18-year-old  played 26 games for Avtodor, averaging 5.5 points (55.2% from inside the arc, 36.6% from outside, 83.3% at the line), 2.2 rebounds and 0.7 assists to go with a 5.7 efficiency rating in 15.5 minutes. His best game of the season came against Kalev (112-109). In 28 minutes on the court, the Russian recorded 22 points and a 20 efficiency rating. He was also picked to the Russian Stars at the 2019 All-Star Game.

“Thank you to the League for this recognition. Avtodor’s season didn’t go the way we wanted it to. There were hard-fought wins, but also games we had no right losing. At the same time, I want to thank the Avtodor president and coach for their trust and support and say thank you to my teammates and everyone on the staff. Next season, we’ll prove we’re capable of more”, Mikhailovsky said.
