Cory Higgins and Nando De Colo led CSKA to a 106-85 home win over Khimki in Game 1 of the VTB League Finals.
De Colo banked all five of his shots from deep on the way to 22 points while Higgins scored 19 as well. Semen Antonov helped with 16 while Sergio Rodriguez notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists.
For Khimki, Alexey Shved nailed game-high 30 points while Jordan Mickey added 18 points and seven boards. Egor Vialtsev followed with ten points.
CSKA opened the game with a 17-5 run and led by an 18-point margin at halftime (53-35). CSKA was keeping the distance after the break and although Khimki made a small run to cut the gap to 11 points (92-81) in the fourth quarter, CSKA answered right back and secured the win.
Game 2 of the best-of-five series will be played on Friday, June 7, at 18:30 CET and CSKA will have the home crowd advantage once again.
