Both sides are at 1-1 after a couple of VTB United League matches.

Astana pulled off the upset against Lokomotiv Kuban in early Saturday VTB United League action. Despite falling in a 14-point hole in the first half and its 10-point deficit early in the fourth quarter, the home side defeated Luca Banchi’s team.

Coty Clarke led the way with 26 points and Illinois alum Malcolm Hill followed with 24 points to his name. Dusan Ristic added 21 points to go along with his 9 boards.

Will Cummings posted a team-high 16 points for the losing side. Dmitry Kulagin ended up with 15 points after missing a pair of free throws with 16 seconds to go. Johnny O’Bryant with 13 points and Sam Dekker with 12 were the other double-digit scorers.

After its road loss to UNICS Kazan, Astana improved its W-L tally to 1-1. Loko dropped to 1-1.
