Errick McCollum stepped up and led UNICS to an 84-80 road win over Tsmoki-Minsk in VTB League. UNICS now holds a 2-2 record while Tsmoki still awaits for their first win (0-4).
McCollum banked game-high 33 points along with seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block. Vangelis Mantzaris added 13 and Kostas Kaimakoglou nine points.
For Tsmoki, Dominez Burnett scored 17 followed by Alex Gavrilovic with 16 and Robert Lowery with 15 points.
Tsmoki started the game better (12-5) but the first quarter ended in a tie (17-17) and UNICS was ahead 43-37 at halftime. They kept the distance after the break and improved it to 13 points (70-57) early in the fourth quarter. Although the guest made a comeback and made it a one-possession game (82-80), they couldn’t change the outcome.
