An epic battle took place between Astana and Zenit on Monday evening in the VTB League, while the first team grabbed a 109-108 victory in overtime.
With just four seconds remaining in the game, Dmitry Khvostov (2o points) tied the score to 96 points, pushing the game to overtime. Zenit’s comeback late in the fourth quarter didn’t exceed in the extra five-minute period, and Astana celebrated this huge victory.
Dusan Ristic and Jeremiah Hill were among the winners’ leading scorers, posting 30 and 25 points each.
On the other end of the court, Austin Hollins dropped a 22-point performance for Zenit.
Astana moved up to a 2-2 record while Zenit now falls to 2-4.
