Lokomotiv Kuban will continue giving a vote of confidence to a Greek coach. After Giorgos Bartzokas’ departure for Barcelona, his successor at the helm of the Russian team will be Fotis Katsikaris.
The head coach of the Greek national team and of Murcia has agreed to a 1+1 deal with the club from Krasnodar and is expected to be officially announced during the upcoming hours.
Lokomotiv Kuban was also considering the case of Jonas Kazlauskas, but ultimately decided to go with Katsikaris.
During the previous season, Katsikaris coached Murcia in Liga Endesa, leading the team to the championship’s playoffs for the first time ever in the history of the club.
UPDATE: The deal was confirmed by the agency which represents Katsikaris.
