Another problem added for Galatasaray since Justin Dentmon and Russ Smith have been excluded from the team’s roster ahead of the Euroleague game against Darussafaka Dogus.
This decision took place after the defeat of the Turkish team by Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania. The management of the club had been already dissatisfied with Smith for numerous reasons, but the case of Dentmon is a bit more complex.
Dentmon was ruled out of the team’s activities (practices/games) of Friday and Saturday because he went out for dinner without consulting his coach first. At least that is the club’s position.
According to Eurohoops sources, the player was indeed out of the hotel for a dinner with a former teammate from his days in Zalgiris Kaunas. But it was during the dinner that he was notified of the team’s rule that no player should leave the hotel.
Dentmon has been asked for a written statement of explanation which he should present in front of the Boards of Directors on Tuesday.
