It was just a regular season game, but what a night for Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek All-Star in the making tied his career high of 34 points, along with 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals and 2 blocks as the Bucks beat the defending NBA champs Cleveland Cavaliers 118-101.

Giannis won the duel with LeBron James who had 22 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 turnovers in a game decided in the third quarter in which the Bucks outscored the Cavs 34 to 20 thanks to an 18-2 run. Cleveland tried to make a come back but just couldn’t in what might be a showdown between the present and future of the Eastern Conference.

“I am just excited before those kind of big games”, said Antetokounmpo afterwards, “my teammates want me to be aggresive, so I just try to do that, move the ball and play team basketball. This is a confindence boost. I don’t think that we were not supposed to win this game. If we continue playing like we did in the last couple of games, then we can do big things”.
