A fascinating game with an finale not recommended for the “faint-hearted” that carried not one but two huge clutch shots in the last six seconds!

In the end, it was a 2/2 by Tornike Shengelia from the free throw line that granted Baskonia 92 – 91 victory over Unics Kazan in Russia!

Only a moment before, Keith Langford had given the lead to the hosts with a difficult three-pointer shot, a direct answer to Shane Larkin’s own downtown basket that had made it 88 – 90, with six seconds left.

Superb sequence of plays, right? Just watch!

Before the thrilling last minute, Quino Colom had put Unics at a distance of six, 83 – 77, with 4 minutes to go thanks to 11 points (out of his 23 in total) in the fourth period. Yet the guests recovered easily to make it a one-possession game in a heartbeat.

Not surprising that the two players who rose up during crunch since were both leading their teams throughout the whole game. Langford finished with 28 points and 5 assists while Larkin dropped 22 points and dished out 6 assists for Baskonia.

The match was extremely balanced in the second half, with Sito Alonso’s team leading 43 – 40 at halftime even though they were even up by 10, 25 – 35 deficit in the mid of the second period.

Since both teams thrived offensively, it was kinda expected that everything will be decided late down the stretch with Baskonia winning the match in the last-second details.
