The CEO of the Turkish Basketball Federaton and former international player, Hedo Turkoglu, was officially appointed as chief advisor to president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
As reported by Hurriyet, Turkoglu will fulfill his duties in the Presidential Palace. Turkoglu played for 15 seasons in the NBA for six different teams, being the most succesful player ever in the Turkish basketball history. He is a sports icon in his country and with him on the team Turkey has won a Eurobasket silver in 2001 and a FIBA World Cup silver in 2010, achievements that are the biggest milestones for the sport in Turkey.
