He is one of the most reliable, experienced and successful players in Europe, having won titles and championships in every team he was a part of.
Nikos Zisis is getting ready to leave Siena and he has already a few offers on the table, the best of them being the one from Unics Kazan. It’s not a surprise since the team consultant is Italian Andrea Fadini, who knows the Greek guard really well from their common tenure at Benetton Treviso in 2006-07 season.
The Greek guard, however, will probably deny the offer, even thought the sum of 1,5 million euros for the next two season is more than respectable. Zisis prefers to play for Bilbao Basket under coach Fotis Katsikaris, who has approached him personally and is ready to give him a three years offer with a smaller annual salary, compered to Unics’ offer.
In the next week the deal between him and Bilbao could be official, unless Olympiacos decides to make a move for him. For the last five years the Reds are approaching him, but the negotiations always fall apart and his dream to play in the same club with his best man Vasilis Spanoulis will probably stay just a dream.
Of course, if the conditions were different, Zisis would prefer to stay at Siena, because he loves the city and Italy in general, but he has already made his mind and will opt out of his contract for next season.
