“I have an offer and I am waiting”

By Nikos Varlas/ varlas@eurohoops.net

Panathinaikos expects to learn on Tuesday (19/2) the decision of EA7 Armani Milano about the possible transfer of Antonis Fotsis and on the same time the Greens are waiting one more answer. A few days ago Olympiacos tried to sign the best player of the Polish league and one of Eurocup’s stand outs, Walter Hodge, and now the same player is the target of Panathinaikos.

The Greek club made an offer to the 27 years old player and also to his team, Zielona Gora, in order to acquire him. Panathinaikos is waiting for them to decide what they will do, as Walter Hodge himself confirms: “Yes I have an offer from PAO and I am waiting. The matter is on the hands of my team and as far as I know they will give their answer on Tuesday”. Hodge also added: “it is an honor for me, all this happening, the offers from big teams. Maybe it’s my destiny to play in Greece after all”.

Just before the end of Euroleague’s transfer deadline, the Greens are more than active on the market, as Hodge confirmed and as the Greek website Soort24.gr reported first. However, as it was proven in the case of Olympiacos, Zielona Gora isn’t eager to sell the player, his buy out isn’t small and the key is that the player has a contract also for next season with the Polish club.

I don't think Pao will make it through the top16,bad roster this year.Olympiacos dominates the greek league, much better team than Pao again this year and Zalgiris will finish 4th and edge out the greens of Athens.

Hodge is very very good player a guard with a lot of abilities and of course would be a great signing if the deal goes ahead.

Fotsis and Hodge are exactly what PAO needs to be competitive and reach the Final Four once again, but without those additions it's going to be very difficult
