Near the end of the first quarter of the first ABA League Finals, Cedevita was leading 11 – 26 in Belgrade. The Croatians had entered the match in an aggressive manner and were absolutely dominating the stage. Meanwhile, Red Star looked disoriented by the aftershock of Friday’s (7/4) EuroLeague defeat vs Darussafaka Dogus.

But things changed rapidly…

With their loud fans backing their comeback efforts, Crvena Zvezda quickly turned the tables to close halftime 45 – 44, then imposed its own rule in the game to win beat its opponents 81 – 66 and make the 1-0 in the best-of-five Finals series.

Charles Jenkins paced the winners with 20 points (4/6 from the perimeter) and 5 assists winning Game MVP honors. Ognjen Kuzmic had 14, as many as Nate Wolters who also dished out 6 assists.

For Cedevita, Marko Tomas had 14 points plus 5 rebounds, Miro Bilan 12 and 5 rebounds while Rashad James added 12 points.
