The basketball that Valencia played in the second half versus Real Madrid was some material straight from the wet dreams of its most devoted fan.

With a 45 – 29 partial score and the “holy trinity” of Will Thomas, Bojan Dubljevic and Fernando San Emeterio inflicting damage, the “Bats” took a 81 – 64 victory and came one win away from the Liga Endesa title.

These three players combined for more than half of their team’s output. Thomas dropped 16 points, Dubljevic scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds while San Emeterio added 15 points, five rebounds plus three assists.

They were also the protagonists of a key 10-1 partial score in the third quarter that transformed the 43 – 43 into 53 – 44 and put Valencia in the driver’s seat for good.

Real, which led 21-30 in the mid of the second period, looked in complete disarray and the only player able to connect to the basket was Sergio Llull (16 points). Once the hosts established a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter they simply never looked back.
