The management of Valencia Basket informed its players that they are called to play in the Copa Del Rey and reminded them to “fulfill their employment contract”, ahead of the strike announced by ABP (Spanish Union of Basketball Players), according to La Provincia.

The team will travel to Las Palmas, where the Copa Del Rey Tournament will be held, as planned, on Wednesday, February 14. This is the same day in which the players’ strike will begin, as announced by ABP.

As of now, the professional players of Valencia haven’t shown any indication that they will go on the strike that was called by ABP following a stalemate in the negotiations with ACB (Association Of Basketball Clubs) regarding the Social Fund in the new collective agreement.

When it comes to the rest of the Copa Del Rey teams, Unicaja Malaga players have already decided that they will go on a strike.
