Telekom Baskets Bonn past Brose Bamberg in the BBL standings after a blowout win over the German champs 106 – 69 at home. The hosts got their 12th victory of the season while Andrea Trinchieri’s men stay with 11.
With one quarter left, Bonn was leading by 32. An impressive “red hot” start allowed them a double-digit advantage at the end of the first (26 – 14) and they continue increasing the lead until the end.
Tomislav Zubcic was unstoppable as he paced the winners with 33 points (he also added 6 rebounds and 3 assists). Josh Mayo added 18 points and Julian Gamble 17. Augustine Rubitt led Bamberg in scoring with 16 points.
Over the weekend, Alba had it easy against Mitteldeutscher in Berlin to continue as the second best team in the German league. Also on Saturday, EWE Baskets Oldenburg got the win over Giessen 46ers in a fun-to-watch game.
Bayern continues with just one defeat after the road victory in Wurzburg last Friday.
