2017/2018 will find ASVEL competing in both French League and EuroCup with high expectations that the Tony Parker’s partnership with Nicolas Batum has created.
In light of these new challenges, the team from Villeurbanne wanted to add some extra firepower in its roster and will do so by signing American combo guard AJ Slaughter, as BeBasket.fr reported.
This transfer will enable a reunion between Slaughter and former teammate in Panathinaikos during 2014/2015 DeMarcus Nelson since the latter is expected to extended his contract with the team for one year.
Slaughter finished the previous season with Strasbourg, averaging 12.4 points plus 3.1 assists. He increased his input to 15.2 points in the playoffs where his team reached the Finals.
Nelson notched 7.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4 assists per game.
