JaJuan Johnson registered a monster double-double of 28 points (EuroCup career-high) and 12 rebounds for 37 (!) in PIR (also EuroCup best), leading Darussafaka to 84 – 65 road victory over fellow Istanbul club Galatasaray.
Howard Sant-Roos added 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for a Darussafaka squad that controlled the game after the first 12 minutes.
After trailing 21 – 19, Coach David Blatt’s players closed the first half up 27 – 35 and then got a 21-point lead, 65 – 44 with ten minutes remaining.
Galatasaray didn’t manage to stay competitive for the larger part of the game. Dwight Hardy had a team-high 15 points and DaJuan Summers 11.
Following the game, Galatasaray executive Can Topsakal resigned from the club.
