CSKA Moscow beat Maccabi Tel Aviv at home 93-81.

Apart from De Colo’s 29-point performance, Kyle Hines reached a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Milos Teodosic almost reached one as well with 11 points and 8 assists.

The hosts opened the game with force in the first quarter. De Colo gave the hosts a double-score at 6′, 19-8. After 10 minutes of action, Maccabi was down by 12, 26-14.

Dimitris Itoudis’ team could expand to 18 points at 13′, but then the visiting team reacted with Guy Pnini, Victor Rudd and Sylven Landesberg placing it just 4 points behind, 43-39, at 17′. Hines made it a 10-point game again and the hosts eventually went to the lockers with a 54-48 lead.

Teodosic expanded the lead for CSKA once again to 11 points at 24′, 65-54, yet Maccabi was persistent enough. With an unsportsmanlike foul by Hines, the visitors trimmed to 9 points after 30 minutes, 69-60.

33 minutes in the game, Ainars Bagatskis’ team trimmed to 7 points, yet never managed to edge the Russian team afterall. With less than 2 minutes left, the deficit reached double digit numbers again and CSKA sealed the win.
