Fenerbahce is facing Real Madrid with some key absences but the team’s focus should be only on the game’s importance, according to Zeljko Obradovic.

With Luigi Datome out and Kostas Sloukas with Anthony Bennett 99% sidelined, Fenerbahce and Zeljko Obradovic face no small amount of problems ahead of the key game against Real Madrid for the 29th Round of the EuroLeague regular season. No point on dwelling on them though.

“We play against the leaders. A team that has a full roster, but more important is that they play as a team. They have quality in every position. We know it will be very difficult, but is a very important game for us. We have some problems in our roster, but it’s not the time to cry, but to understand how important this game is for us,” said the Serbian coach.

Fenerbahce is currently fourth in the standings but hasn’t secured that it will finish as such with the completion of the regular season. Panathinaikos has the same record and if it makes the 2/2 in the remaining matches (at home vs CSKA Moscow and on the road vs Maccabi Tel Aviv) then the Turkish team also needs a perfect record (in the matches vs Real Madrid and then Barcelona in Istanbul) to seal the home-court advantage in the quarterfinals.
