Sarunas Jasikevicius addressed the possibilities of leaving Zalgiris Kaunas in summer, though he clearly states he will have to find even or better working conditions in order to do so.

“I will leave Zalgiris only for a team which will let me work with the same or better conditions like in Kaunas. I would consider offers from other clubs only with ambitions to fight for high goals”, says Jasikevicius as mentioned by Donatas Urbonas on twitter.

He also made a statement about the offers he’s had last summer: “Last year I had conversations with some teams. Soon, you understand everyone’s philosophy. There are teams with owners who build the roster by themselves. They sign some players only to expose themselves how big the names and their contracts are. But for us, coaches, the most important thing is a freedom to work”, he continues, “and Zalgiris provides it. Here I feel loved.”

“These are key factors why I’m not exploring other possibilities desperately. I feel joyful to work in Zalgiris. I would change my job only for the same working conditions with more ambitions. If some big team with big goals comes with an offer to me, I will consider it. But it would be very difficult to leave Zalgiris. I feel so great here, just wonderful.”
