The return of Tyrese Rice to Maccabi Tel Aviv is close at hand and only some details are left for the 2014 Final Four MVP to once again wear the “Yellows” jersey.

Maccabi Tel Aviv and American point guard Tyrese Rice have already agreed, in principle, according to Israeli website Walla.

The report mentions that only some “technical details” regarding Rice’s contract with Barcelona are left for the deal to be completely finalized. When that happens, the player’s transfer will be announced within days, according to a Maccabi official.

Rice had signed a 2+1 contract with Barcelona last summer and the 2017/2018 season would earn him around $1.5 million. However he isn’t included in the team’s plans for the upcoming season.

Maccabi Tel Aviv really wanted to bring back the player who was the main character and MVP in the 2014 Final Four (and the last EuroLeague title the team has won) and saw the opportunity to acquire him.

His transfer is part of … reunion Maccabi is making with players of the 2014 championship squad, since Alex Tyus is also back in Tel Aviv.
