The calendar of the next season for EuroLeague and EuroCup was approved today and the clubs decided that there will be games during the national team qualification windows.

That applies only to EuroLeague and not in the EuroCup, which is expected to not have games scheduled during the windows. That means players competing in the Eurocup will be able to compete with their national teams, but that’s not possible for EuroLeague players.

According to the press release Euroleague Basketball executives presented to the ECA Shareholders the strategic pillars to drive business operations during the next five years as defined at the recent club owners’ working session in Chantilly, France.

Attendees reviewed a report from Euroleague Basketball’s officiating department, which included key data of the 2016-17 season and their plans for 2017-18.

Further reports on the leagues’ financials, 2017-18 bylaws as well as the integrity and monitoring programme run in partnership with Genius Sports were also heard and approved.

The 2017-18 EuroLeague and EuroCup will see the first games of the new season being played in mid-October.

The EuroCup Regular Season will tip-off on October 11 and run until December 27. Top 16 qualified teams will compete in the six round second phase starting on January 3 and finishing on February 7. Best-of-three Quarterfinals will tip-off on March 6, Semifinals will start on March 20, and the Finals will commence on April 10, with the competition’s champion being crowned on April 13 or April 16, depending on whether or not the series will include a Game 3.

The EuroLeague will maintain its successful renewed format and calendar, with the league’s start marked on October 12. The season will run its 30 round regular season until April 6. The eight best teams of the season will battle in the best-of-five playoffs from April 17 to May 1, with the Final Four games being hosted in Belgrade on May 18 & 20.
