It’s official! After four seasons with Olympiacos, Matt Lojeski is the new member of Panathinaikos, as the Greens announced today.

The American sharp shooter with the Belgian passport made history. No other non Greek player stayed in Olympiacos for so long and the fact that he signed after that for the “eternal rival” of the Reds gives him a unique place in the rivarly lore.

Matt Lojeski was also in talks with Barcelona, which is focused currently on the case of Adam Hanga. Panathinaikos will be just the fourth club in Lojeski’s career. The 32 years old player was also a member of Okapi Aalstar and  Oostende in Belgium,  before joining Olympiacos.

His contract with the Greens includes a special clause about his health, given the fact that he finished last season injured. He is the seventh non Greek player in the current Panathinaikos roster and it remains to be seen if he will be used or not in the Greek league, where the limit is six non Greek players per team.
