Coach Simone Pianigiani commented on Olimpia Milano’s defeat to Olympiacos, mentioning that there were some key mistakes by the referees that impacted the outcome of the match.

“We did our best but our disadvantages was their high percentages. There were also some serious officiating mistakes like the call on Kaleb Tarczewski’s foul near the end, which played a part in the outcome. In the future, we will gain the respect we need to not have to comment on these episodes.”, Pianigiani said during the post-game press conference.

Pianigiani also said that, “I’m sorry for my guys because they deserved to win against one of the best if not the best team in EuroLeague. We lost only one quarter. I’m sorry because in that second period we hesitated and gave up some shots. We were a bit panicked. Too bad because we forced them to play in the rhythm we wanted, eliminated Milutinov and accepted that they received few more points than usual. But they came back. The details made the difference.”
