Khimki Moscow’s Alexey Shved “killed” Olimpia Milano tonight with his EuroLeague career-high 29 points and Simone Pianigiani couldn’t help but admit that his team needs players of such lethal quality.
“We should add great players at the level of Shved,” said the coach of Milano in the post-game presser. But before this happens, Pianigiani believes that his squad should “create a mentality and confidence.”
Pianigiani thinks that results don’t do credit to Milano‘s performances, mentioning that, “We are playing face to face with everybody, we lose too many games. We have to regain confidence.”
Analyzing the loss to Khimki, Milano’s eighth in 11 EuroLeague games, Pianigiani said the following: “We played a great first quarter, attacking their switching defense to go with the big men inside, and defensively we were perfect. But in the second quarter, we were superficial and in the second half, we lost control of the tempo offensively. In the end, we felt the pressure from the previous game.”
