While FIBA announced yesterday that no negotiations will be made with EuroLeague unless the European clubs competition decides to release all the players for the national teams, it seems that the talks remain ongoing.

According to “Mundo Deportivo“, FIBA is ready to offer to EuroLeague a compromise and eliminate either the November of the February FIBA World Cup national team qualifiers.

This will happen from next season, while EuroLeague has recently announced that a new offer will be made to FIBA concerning the national team “windows”.

It’s obvious that despite the hard-line announced by FIBA, the international federation is acting having in mind the bigger picture, which is a successful experiment of mid-season national team games around the globe. And that’s why the situation in Europe must also be resolved for the greater good of the sport.
