AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan got an impressive 77-86 win over Khimki Moscow region, in a thrilling game that was decided in the final minutes.

Even though Milano had a nine point lead (69-78) with three minutes to go, Khimki went on a 6-0 run, cutting this deficit to just three-points (75-78). Goudelock scored a floater with one minute left and made it a two possession game. On the other end of the court Gill made two free-throws but Jerrels scored another floater (77-82) with 30 seconds on the clock. Finally, Shved made a crucial turnover and the game eventually was over.

In what was a great point-guard battle to watch between Alexey Shved and Andrew Goudelock, the visiting guard came up on top. Andrew Goudelock finished with season-high 26 points (9/15 FG) and grabbed 5 rebounds, while EuroLeague’s February MVP, not only broke the single season record for 3-pointers made but also scored 24 points (3/10 3FG). However, he made an important mistake in the final minute of the contest that affected the outcome.

Curtis Jerrels (14 pts) and Mindaugas Kuzminskas (15 pts) also affected the game especially down the strech. Finally Arturas Gudaitis was productive down low (8p, 8r).

The game was one-sided in the first period with Milano starting the game off on the right foot (18-27). Goudelock had 12 points in just ten minutes. Even though Bartzokas’ team responded in the early second quarter re-gaining the lead, Milano once again built the lead to double-digits (39-49).

Milan improved to 9-16 for the season, while Khimki slipped to 14-11 in a loss that affects the top-4 chances.
