Wright and Bamberg got the job done

Led by Wright, Radosevic, and Rubit, Brose Bamberg had a great offensive night against Anadolu Efes, picking up the win.

Brose Bamberg defeated Anadolu Efes in Germany 88-79, even though at the end Efes challenged the hosts.

The game was close in the first two quarters (44-41), but Bamberg had other ideas heading into the second half. With a 14-2 run, coach Lucca Banchi’s team increased the lead to double-digits (58-43).

The German side was sharing the ball (16 assists), multiple players were scoring as Augustine Rubit and Dorell Wright were leading the way and they managed to build a solid advantage over Errick McCollum and Efes.

Eventually, the third quarter was the key to the game. At one point, Brose even went up by 17 points (67-50). In the final quarter, Efes tried to come back cutting the lead to single digits, but coach Ataman’s team could not complete the job. It is significant to note, that Brose shot 27/44 (61.4%) from inside the three-point line.

For the winners, Wright finished with 15 points, while Rubit added a double-double (14 p. 10r.). Leon Radosevic flirted with one (15p. 9r.). Luka Mitrovic, however, picked up an injury and had to exit the game. He only played seven minutes.

On the other hand, for Efes, McCollum finished with 21 points (5/10 3FG), while Vladimir Stimac added 18.

It was a competitive game in the first half (44-41) with McCollum scoring 13 points for the visitors, but everything changed in the second part of the contest.

*Bamberg improved to a 10-16 record, while Efes slipped to 6-20 remaining last in the standings.
