FIBA proposes new plan to EuroLeague

FIBA answered to EuroLeague’s proposal for re-scheduling the calendar by pitching an alternative schedule .

Not long after EuroLeague’s proposal to FIBA for the modification of the new calendar, the Federation responded by offering a plan for an alternative schedule.

As reported by Sport24.gr, FIBA suggested to EuroLeague the following changes in order to solve the issue regarding two specific weeks of the following season that include games for the World Cup Qualifiers. One in late November and the other on February:

For EuroLeague to transfer all Thursday/Friday games into Tuesday and FIBA to put all weekly games (Thursday/Friday) to Friday. 

According to the above suggestion, the dates would be set as followed:

FIRST WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS WINDOW:

Tuesday, November 21: EuroLeague games

Wednesday, November 22: Travel

Thursday, November 23: National team practices

Friday, November 24: World Cup Qualifiers

Sunday, November 26: World Cup Qualifiers

Monday, November 27: World Cup Qualifiers

Tuesday, November 28: Players returning to clubs

SECOND WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS WINDOW:

Tuesday, February 20: EuroLeague games

Wednesday, February 21: Travel

Thursday, February 22: National team practices

Friday, February 23: World Cup Qualifiers

Sunday, February 25: World Cup Qualifiers

Monday, February 26: World Cup Qualifiers

Tuesday, February 27: Players returning to clubs
