Panathinaikos won the Greek Cup for sixth time in a row and 18th in club history after defeating Aris 68 – 59  in the Final that took place in “Nick Galis” Hall of Thessaloniki.

It was a quite… eventful game particularly due to the one-hour delay that happened because of over-numbered Aris fans in the arena. Some of them checked in the gym… without tickets.

The Greens won perhaps more easily than what the final score shows since they were up 54 – 37 two minutes in the final quarter. Their opponents tried to make a valiant comeback with a 2 – 14 partial score for the 56 – 51 with 3:37 left but offensive rebounding and key perimeter shooting paced the Cup holders to the repeat.

James Feldeine won MVP after scoring a team-high 18 points, while Nick Calathes added 15 points plus 4 rebounds.

For Aris, Will Cummings had a game-high 20 points and Mike Jenkins 12 plus 6 rebounds.

This victory preserves an impressive tradition of Panathinaikos that has now won at least one title in every single season since 1998.
